Read the lessons beforehand and prepare your questions in a Word document, so you can copy-paste them during the lesson. This will help you save time and make sure you don’t forget any questions.
Try to keep your questions short and simple: “What is the meaning of this verse?” or “What do you think of this hadith?” If you have a specific question, be specific when asking it. You can also ask for clarification if needed.
If you are having trouble understanding a certain passage or verse, try asking the teacher to explain it in different ways until it becomes clear to you. If he/she says something that does not make sense at all, ask for an explanation again until it does become clear — don’t let yourself get frustrated!
If you want to discuss something with your teacher privately (e.g., if you have doubts about what he/she said), ask him/her whether they would be willing to do so during a free section of their schedule — otherwise they might feel like they are being pressured into answering something immediately or at an inconvenient time for them.
